Virtual Mindfulness Workshop

Intro to Mindfulness® is an evidence-based curriculum specifically designed for teaching mindfulness, meditation, and stress management to college students and other young adults.
The Intro to Mindfulness program…
Is taught in four weekly 75-minute classes (a brief model to accommodate busy student schedules)
Is structured with daily homework of a mindfulness log and 10 minutes of mindfulness practice
Is taught in small groups

Intuitive Eating is an approach that teaches you how to create a healthy relationship with your food, mind, and body. It is based on 10 basic principles that invite you to a world of satisfying eating and a sense of freedom from dieting.
The four-week workshop is free for students and will provide education, activities, practice, and support to improve your food and body image awareness.

4th Annual BioBlitz at the Ashton Prairie Living Laboratory

Join researchers in collecting, observing, and recording biodiversity at the Ashton Prairie Living Laboratory in our 4th Annual BioBlitz. Your findings will inform a major research project and will contribute to the fourth data point in a multi-year documentation of how diversity changes at this site over time. Mark your calendar for our 100-Word Microstory Contest—a free online writing competition for a variety of age groups. You don’t have to be an Iowa Writers’ Workshop grad—or even have participated in a flash writing contest before—to join in the fun. Just create a story in 100 words or less that uses one of two specific writing prompts. We will announce the writing prompts here on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 9 a.m. CDT.
