Sia Tortorelis is a 2019 spring graduate from Edina, Minnesota. She majored in biology and was involved with Alpha Chi Omega, Orthodox Christian Fellowship, College of Education student ambassadors, and UI Gardeners.

Gage Miskimen served as the 2018-19 editor-in-chief of The Daily Iowan, an award-winning newspaper. Miskimen is from Marion, Iowa and graduated this spring with degrees in journalism and mass communications and cinematic arts.

Hira Mustafa graduated on May 11th with degrees in ethics and public policy and business, with a philosophy minor. Mustafa is originally from West Des Moines, Iowa and recently finished serving as the undergraduate student body president of The University of Iowa.

Active Minds on a Mission: Talking About Mental Health
The University of Iowa chapter of Active Minds is a student-run group on a mission to expand the conversation surrounding mental health on campus. Over the last four years they have partnered with numerous organizations to broaden their reach and make sure that every Hawkeye knows they are supported.

Wellness (and the UI) Wins with Fresh Check Day
The University of Iowa’s Fresh Check Day — an event focused on campus mental health — won national recognition this year for being among the nation’s best. Rising to the top out of 145 other universities, the UI’s event won the 2018 Outstanding Fresh Check Day Campus award.
